Watch as Coach explains that when setting up workouts you need to consider rest and recovery time frames. The recovery period, not the actual work period, is when an athlete gets better. Recovery time frames are based on the type of workout or race and involve a 24-, 48-, or 72-hour rest and recovery period. He will cover each of the time frames with an explanation of the type of workouts and races that determine the amount of time needed.
Watch as Coach Scott Christensen explains, and distance runners demonstrate using PVC sticks for their plyometric warmups. Coach shows video of wide and narrow stance rotations, lateral and skip jacks, plant the stick, and stick wall drills. He also covers conditioning work with the Gambetta Circuit and hurdle mobility drills.
