Tony Holler Sprints

These two videos come from Coaches Insider and feature Coach Tony Holler (Feed the Cats). Here is demonstrates two drills: Cat Jumps and Split & Rip.

Watch as Coach explains, and sprinters demonstrate Cat Jumps. The Russians developed this drill over twenty years ago and it involves jumping off high places and sticking the landing. As the athletes jump and land, they will have no play in their hips, no sag or falling forward, and all the force is absorbed.

Watch as Coach explains, and sprinters demonstrate this split and rip drill. This is a start drill from a 2-, 3- or 4-point stance. In the offseason they use a 2-point stance with the left foot up to the line and the left hand high setting up for the split and rip. On the first step the sprinters hands are split apart and on the second step the sprinter rips though it.
